What's better,front wheel drive or rear wheel drive for Canadian winter driving.What does a Fit & Matrix have?

Front-wheel drive is better because that's where most of the car's weight is, so you will get better traction than in a rear-wheel drive. Both the Fit and Matrix/Vibe has front-wheel drive and the Matrix and Vibe also come in all-wheel drive, although, my dad's Vibe actually handles pretty well in the snow with front-wheel drive and the low-profile all-season tires it came with stock.
